The Legal Assistant, LLC was formed in September, 2006 with the goal of combining law practice knowledge and technology to provide superior practice management software for U.S. law firms.
Our mission is to become the leading provider of quality user-friendly software to the legal profession enabling automated management of the practice in an efficient and integrated manner.
We are headquartered in Garfield, New Jersey, with aggressive plans to expand operations in 2011 into multiple states.
Gary Zalarick co-founded The Legal Assistant in 2006, with the goal of automating legal practices in the USA. He is the Founder/Partner at the highly successful law firm of Sammarro & Zalarick, P.A., formed in 1993, focused on Real Estate and Personal Injury Law.
Previously, he was a Trial Attorney at the New Jersey law firm of Weiner & Ryan, P.A. Mr.Zalarick has been a licensed member of the New Jersey State Bar Association since 1989. He graduated with a B.A. from Montclair State University in 1986, and received his Juris Doctor from Pace Law School in 1989.
Shaleen (Sheli) Gupta co-founded The Legal Assistant in 2006 and is responsible for the day-to-day management of the company. Previously, he was an Executive at Dendrite International (NASDAQ:DRTE) as a result of his previous venture, Software Associates International (SAI) being acquired by Dendrite in 2002.
Sheli was a co-founder of SAI, a 2 person software and services company formed in 1994 which grew into a highly successful 180 person company with $23 Million revenues at its time of sale. He and the company were recipients of numerous awards including being ranked #101 in 2000's Inc.500 Fastest Growing Privately Held companies in the USA, 1998 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year in NJ, Deloitte & Touche Fast 50 NJ (#1 in 1999, #6 in 2000, #22 in 2001), Deloitte & Touche Fast 500 USA (#23 in 1999, #203 in 2000), and being named one of NJ's Finest Private Companies in 2000.
Mr.Gupta received his B.Sc. with Honours in Computer & Electronic Engineering from King's College, University of London, England.
Richard Tannenbaum is responsible for all technology aspects of the The Legal Assistant. He is the Founder and Managing Director of Superbase Developers, PLC, based in Cambridge, England. Superbase was formed in 1996, and is a provider of software applications in Europe and the USA.
Previously, Richard was the Founder and Managing Director of Robinson-Tannenbaum software (1989-1996) and Founder and Technical Director of Data-Plus in Germany (1978-1989). He also held several roles in project management for the US State Department (1970-1978).
Richard received his PhD in Physics from Cambridge University, England and his B.Sc. with 1st Class Honours in Theoretical Physics from University College, University of London, England.
